LCLA Luncheon 8.2.17
The Honorable Gordon Helsel, Delegate, Virginia House of Delegates, 91st District since 2011, from the city of Poquoson spoke at the August 2nd LCLA luncheon. Delegate Helsel, served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1971 and received two Purple Hearts & one Bronze Star for Valor. Delegate Helsel spoke about his tour of duty in Vietnam and the importance of honoring those Veterans who served during that conflict. He also mentioned the work he was engaged in regarding the LAFB flight approach zone and encroachment as well as other activities in the Virginia House of Delegates. LCLA President, Bruce Sturk, presented Delegate Helsel with an LCLA “Challenge Coin” and thanked him for his presentation.
